Kandy Halloween 2008 @ Playboy Mansion : October 31, 2008 - The Karma Foundation threw the sexiest Playboy party on Halloween day ever with DJ sets by Paul Oakenfold, DJ Mister-E and DJ Danny Love at the world famous Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner’s palace was transformed into one of the scariest haunted houses in the nation with pneumatic monsters, ghouls and actors in all areas of the grounds. There were also smoking hot body-painted kandy models, an open bar & dinner buffet, go-go dancers, Playboy playmates and several celebrities with proceeds to benefit the Pay It Forward Foundation.

Sunday : September 28, 2008 - DJ Homicide, LIT, Everclear, Sugar Ray perform at Paramount Studio's New york Street Backlot - Skinnie Magazine & Paramount Special Events presented the most rocking end of summer party on Paramount Studio’s New York Street Backlot with live performances of Sugar Ray, Everclear, LIT & DJ Homicide. Smashmouth was scheduled to perform but called in sick. There was one stage and hundreds of fans gathering around for an exciting concert with an amazing lineup.

Lovefest 2008 @ Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum : August 9, 2008 - The 2008 Love Festival, hosted by Saturday Night Sessions, was in it's sixteenth year of production Saturday night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum & Sports Arena. There were two stages featuring a handful of DJs such as Dirty South, Laidback Luke, Cedric Gervais, DJ Reza, Mark Farina, Junior Sanchez, Steve Aoki, Barry Weaver and a few others. As you entered there were also vendor booths selling all your favorite rave gears.

The Awakening 2008 @ The Hudson Theater : July 19, 2008 - Insomniac Events through another amazingly beautiful rave out at the Hudson Theater Saturday night called 'The Awakening'. The list of DJs, a who's who amongst famous rave DJs, included Joaquin Bamaca, John 00 Fleming, Infected Mushroom, Paul Ahi, Heavy Hittahz, Subflo, AK1200 and Gridlok, Chase & Status and finally Hazen. Once getting through security, you entered the Gotham City room where you could pick up free fans, drinks, food and who knows what else. Then you walk on to the main stage, which is a huge room filled with lights, tables and a large enough dance floor filled with neon lights and crazy ravers. All the way in the back was the last room filled with local DJs and packed in tight.

Kandyland @ Playboy Mansion : Kandyland 3 @ The Playboy Mansion - Superstars VIP in association with the Karma Foundation presents Kandyland III - 'An Evening of Decadent Dreams Where your sweetest fantasies come to life.' The Most Outrageous, Hard Rockin' party of the Summer, Kandyland III was the ultimate sight and sound experience. My experience was like a dream where Alice in Wonderland fused with Willy Wonka. Hundreds of sexy Playmate type girls were hand picked to attend this year's event. Once you walked into the Mansion's party yard, you were sucked in by florescent mushrooms and candy dangling from trees. There was an open buffet with garlic shrimp, kobe beef skewers and something that could have once resembled a pizza. With unlimited drinks until 2AM, tipsy girls and guys jumped in the grotto and got acquainted. For dessert, there was plenty of candy going around and the best cannoli I have ever eaten! The resident Kandy DJs kept the party pumping all night long with music starting out as pop/top 40 then turning in to an exotic rave party around 1AM. Kandyland 3 was set to end at 4AM with continuation at the Roosevelt pool party closer on Sunday.

Celebrity Poker July 21, 2008 @ The Highlands (Hollywood) : Skinnie Entertainment Magazine & National Lampoon’s presents the Celebrity Poker Tournament starring Charlene Tilton, David Zayas, Dennis Haysbert, Dennis Haskins, Greg Evigan, Jamie Gold, Jay London, Jay Davis, Jeff Conaway, Jessica Custodio, Joey Coco Diaz, Jose Canseco, Joseph Reitman, Joshua Malina, Kelly Hu, Kevin Weisman, Lukas Rossi, Matt Willig, Mo Collins, Pancho Moler, Phil Varone, Shawn Stockman, Tuc Witkins, and Willie Garson at The Highlands this Monday night. When entering The Highlands you were greeted with a red carpet followed by a bar lined with food trays. Plenty of drinks were being served as people mingled and waited for the poker tournament to begin. I don’t remember exactly what the rules were but every 30 minutes players were allowed to buy back in to the game and play some more. A beautiful crystal, female body cast was being auctioned off by Jen Ashton as well as three crisp autographed guitars. At the poker tables, cards were dealt out by the Dealer Dolls and at every table you could find someone from New Poker. The events this night benefited the children at Clear View Treatment Center.

Everyone attending had to dress in costume. There were fairies, nymphs, witches, warlocks, dragons, knights, Victorians, Neptune, Gandolf, vampires, movie characters for the summer’s hottest films, and hundreds more. The Labyrinth of Jareth is a two day ball featuring music from goth and world beat artists as well as dance and stilt artists. This Masquerade is one of the few classical events open to ANYONE who has dreamed of a surrealistic fantasy fading into a single night of dance and revelry. Music and visuals heighten your senses as the night shields the Goblin Court and the chambers surrounding it.

Electric Daisy Carnival 2008 @ The Los Angeles Memorial Colliseum : June 28, 2008 - Electric Daisy Carnival, presented by Insomniac Events, is more than just a music festival. In addition to dozens of high-quality music acts spread across 6 stages, EDC also featured carnival rides, art installations, tribal drum circles, aerial performers, stilt walkers, fire twirlers and a huge vendors village. There was something for everyone on this amazing 12 hour night which started at 4pm on Saturday and finished 4am Sunday. This was an all ages event

There were several completely naked people swimming in the grotto and the famed naked man showing off for all to see at this rocking party. In the back, there was a silent auction turned live auction with guitars, framed collector's items, and $500 gift buckets. The music was purely rock with the DJ. Once Sebastian Bach took center stage, the crowd went wild.

Sunset Junction Street & Music Festival 2008 : August 24, 2008 - The Sunset Junction Street Festival, created to bring together the diversity and community of Silver Lake, Los Feliz and Echo Park, is going on its 28th year in production. The festival stretches a few blocks with the closing off of major streets like Sunset Blvd & Santa Monica Blvd. There were hundred of food, clothing and art vendors as well as live music. Of course this was a family street fair that included carnival rides for the kids and lots of booz for the adults! As you may have heard, Cinespace has 3 rooms with a center room on this night featuring a DJ playing rave, techno music and a smokers patio with a view of Hollywood Blvd. Around midnight the main stage room opened to the public and had live performances and “Celebrity Rehab” was filming Nikki McKibbin sing her heart out. After the performances where finished, the DJ pumped out the latest hip hop music as the after party got started.

The Spazmatics @ The Dragonfly : June 15, 2008 - The Spazmatics & DJ Morty tore up the Dragonfly Sunday night. DJ Morty spun out all the ‘80s tunes you either love or hate. Once the Spazmatics, dressed like characters from “The Nerds”, took the stage the crowd went wild. 80s songs were being played as girls got up on stage, danced & took part in some of the strangest requests the from the bassist. Celebrities there were Will I Am, Wee Man, Steve-O, a bunch of heavy metal rockers guys and many more who were dodging the cameras. Best Sunday night of my life!
